World renowned long stretch of sunny beach up to Dehiwala is only 1 15 minute walk from KOZY B&B. A tuktuk will take you there under 5 minutes. While at it, you can indulge in many Sri Lankan restaurants offering a verity of local/ international cuisine (don’t forget to taste lobster, seer fish, tuna and many other seafood sourced by the local fishermen).

For early birds who can be at the beach by 0600 hrs, you can witness arrival of small fishing boats and loud and active fish auction. Common catch include Trevallies, Seer, Tuna, Sailfish, Snappers, Octopus, Squids, Mullets and many more. Divers who arrive later in the day will get you  plenty of Lobsters.  You may buy the fresh catch of your like and we will help you to prepare.

10 minute walk- If you fancy a beer by the pool and to taste an authentic Sri Lankan buffet inside a heritage hotel, a 15 minute walk from our place will take you there. Enjoy your day time and return to your city hideout Kozy B&B.

You may be a professional or a rookie under water. There are few good diving schools which would fit the diver in you. You can enjoy a safe dive to the coral reef and few ship wrecks.

10 minute taxi drive will take you to The Dehiwala National Zoo, which has a remarkable collection of exotic and indigenous fauna, is one of the oldest Zoos in Asia. The Zoo in Sri Lanka is widely known as Colombo Zoo all over the world. Don’t miss the elephant show.

This is probably the only sanctuary in nearby for birds and other animals. The 372 hectare sanctuary is well known for its migratory and endemic water birds. It is also a great place to watch butterflies. The sanctuary also has a good view of Adam’s Peak in the distance.

The Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya should be a priority on your travel itinerary. It is a Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka boasting of grandeur and a history of over 2000 years. Devotees by the hundreds gather to worship Lord Buddha with offerings of flowers and incense on a daily basis. The highlight of the temple is its Esala Perahera held every August, a colourful pageant comprising of flame throwers, whip crackers, energetic traditional dancers and a beautifully clad tusker majestically carrying a sacred relic of The Lord Buddha.
